Join Our Uplifting Fibromyalgia Support & Education Group – Now Meeting on Zoom!
We are not a pity party. Our hope is you leave each meeting a bit happier and more hopeful.
For over 23 years, our group met in person at Ascension Macomb-Oakland Hospital in Warren, MI, and we’re proud of our long-standing partnership with St. John Providence/Ascension. When the COVID-19 pandemic hit, we transitioned our meetings to Zoom—opening the door to participants from across the country and beyond. Since then, both our group and our annual Fibromyalgia Awareness Day event have grown in reach and impact. To date, more than 2,000 individuals have attended our meetings, and physicians continue to refer their fibromyalgia patients to our group for trusted support and resources.

Educated patients have improved health outcomes. Becoming knowledgeable about your diagnosis (or multiple diagnoses) can help you make more informed decisions. Having a chronic illness (or likely illnesses) is stressful. Becoming educated has been shown to reduce stress and perhaps even save you money. Meetings are led by the President and Founder of the Fibromyalgia Association Sharon Waldrop, NBC-HWC. Sharon brings nearly 30 years of experience in fibromyalgia support, education, and advocacy. She is a National Board Certified Health & Wellness Coach with certifications in chronic pain management, Lifestyle Medicine, and she is a MyMT™ Certified Menopause Lifestyle Practitioner. She is Co-host of The Fibro Show on YouTube with Ginevra Liptan, MD.

You can participate as much or as little as you like. We ask our members to help keep the group a welcoming and supportive space for all and follow our group guidelines listed below.

-
Treat each other with respect and kindness.
-
What’s shared in the meeting stays in the meeting. Please respect the privacy of all participants.
-
It's okay to have different opinions, as long as we share them kindly and listen with an open mind.
-
Use "I" statements. Please share from your personal experience by saying things like, "This is what helped me".
-
It's OK not to share. Much can be gained by just listening.
-
Help us share the airtime to give everyone a chance to participate.

No doctor or treatment bashing. What does not work well for you might be another person’s key to success. Everyone responds differently to professionals and treatments.
